Only A Few Days To Enter The LA Open! Don’t Miss It!

I’d like to remind you again that the deadline for the LA Open is fast approaching! Entries must be received by this Saturday, March 24th.

Also, the below is from our tournament chairman, Steve Sax. Please note the changes in venue for some of the flights, as well as info about the welcome party, banquet, and draws. And get those entries in!

Hello Everyone,


I wanted to give everyone a quick update on our schedule of events and court locations. 

Unfortunately, Cal St. LA double booked their courts, and their women’s team has precedence over us.  Also, Burroughs High School is in session on Friday, April 6 and we aren’t able to use their courts till later in the day.  So we’ve made a few changes for the B’s, C’s, and D’s.  Here are the new sites and where each division will play:

B’s – Friday & Saturday –  Vermont Canyon in Griffith Park (Los Feliz), Sunday – Burbank Tennis Center

C’s & D’s – Friday – La Cienega Tennis Center (Beverly Hills),  Saturday – Burroughs High School (Burbank), Sunday – Burbank Tennis Center

Open’s & A’s – Burbank Tennis Center the entire weekend.

I apologize for the late notice with the courts.  Hopefully it hasn’t caused a problem with anyone’s hotel arrangements.

Our welcome party is set to take place on Thursday, April 5 from 7pm-9pm at Gym Bar in West Hollywood.  The banquet is on Saturday, April 7 at Rockwell in Los Feliz from 7pm-10pm.

Draws will be posted no later than Sunday, March 31.

Reminder: Enter The LA Open Before It’s Too Late!

Hey LATA Members! Steve Sax, our Tournament Chairman, reminds us that the deadline to sign up for the LA Open is 3/24. It’ll be here before you know it, so don’t wait until the last minute! It’s going to be a great weekend of tennis and the accompanying banquet is always a fun chance to meet players from all over the world!

Last Chance To Grab A Trip To Italy! Deadline This Weekend!

Hello LATA Members!

If you saw the LA Open tournament update, you’ll know that this year, the tennis club in Rome is offering two free entries to their tournament, plus free housing. You’d have to get yourself to Rome, but if you’ve ever wanted to go, it’s a great opportunity — beautiful city, great tennis, and — I probably don’t have to point this out — Italian men. If you’re interested, let Steve Sax know by this weekend. Here’s the relevant part of the original post again:

Lastly, LATA has teamed up with the tennis club in Rome (T.C. Appio Claudio) to do a tournament entry exchange.  This year we are providing two entries and housing to the LA Open for two members of their club.  They have agreed to do the same for their tournament which is June 1-3.  For those two LATA members who wish to go, you will receive a free entry to the “Yellow Rome” and provided housing with their members.  Please contact me if you’re interested.  If I have more than two people interested, we’ll have a drawing or figure out some other way to determine who gets to go.
